How To Play Speed - Card Games

Speed is a fun card game that can be played by both adults and children with an ordinary deck of playing cards. True to its name, the game calls for quick thinking and fast movements.

The objective of the game is to go out. This can only be done by eliminating all of the cards in your hand. Each person in the game is dealt a total of 10 cards, face down, which they hold in front of them so only they can see. The remaining deck is placed face down in the center of the table and the top card is flipped up. The game then begins as two or more players race to try to get rid of their cards.

The only way a player can get rid of their cards is to put a card down that either goes before or after the card at the top of the pile. For example, if the card on the top of the discard deck, which is face up, is an eight, players can either put a nine or a seven on top of that card. An Ace can be either high or low and when an Ace is on the top in the discard pile, a person can put down either a King or a two.

There are no "turns" taken in the card game of Speed. Players race to see who can put down cards quicker. If a person has no cards in their hand that can go on top of the discard face up deck, they can pick as many cards as they want off of the face down deck. Occasionally, the play will stop long enough for players to be able to focus what is in their hands.

The card game of speed is similar to Uno, except that no one takes turns playing. The game moves very quickly and the first player who gets rid of all of his or her cards is the winner.

Speed generally takes about five to ten minutes to complete. It is an ideal game for children as it teaches them to think fast and helps them learn numerical order. It is also a fun game for adults, although it is more fun when played with two people than a group as it can get very hectic.

Parents who want to spend some time with their children playing games can play Speed as well as many other card games that children can enjoy. A simple deck of playing cards, which can usually be purchased for under a dollar, is all anyone needs to have hours of fun entertainment. In addition to Speed, other fun card games to play with children that can be played with a regular deck of playing cards include "War" and "Go Fish." A deck of playing cards can be invaluable to anyone who is playing with young children or baby sitting.

In addition, children can also be taught to play card games with each other so they have something to do on rainy or cold days, instead of relying on computers, television and video games. Card games have been around for centuries and are still being enjoyed by young and old alike.
